Plagiarism Policy

The International Journal of Cyber Security, Cloud & Engineering Research (IJCSCER) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. The journal strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism and ensures that all submitted manuscripts are original and properly cited.

1. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined as the use of another person’s work, ideas, data, or words without proper acknowledgment. It includes, but is not limited to:

  • Direct copying of text without citation
  • Paraphrasing without appropriate credit
  • Self-plagiarism (reusing one’s own previously published work without disclosure)
  • Data fabrication or falsification
  • Improper attribution of sources

2. Plagiarism Screening

All manuscripts submitted to IJCSCER undergo plagiarism detection using reliable software tools. The editorial team evaluates similarity reports to ensure originality and proper citation.

  • Manuscripts with high similarity index or significant unattributed content will be rejected.
  • Minor similarities (e.g., common phrases, references) may be acceptable if properly cited.

3. Acceptable Similarity Threshold

  • A general similarity index of up to 10–15% may be considered acceptable, provided that no single source contributes significantly to the overlap.
  • Any instance of copied content without citation, regardless of percentage, is considered unacceptable.

4. Author Responsibilities

Authors must ensure that:

  • The submitted work is original and unpublished
  • All sources are properly cited and referenced
  • Permissions are obtained for copyrighted materials
  • Any overlapping or reused content is clearly disclosed

Authors are required to submit a plagiarism-free declaration along with their manuscript.

5. Actions in Case of Plagiarism

Before Publication

  • Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism will be rejected immediately
  • Authors may be asked to revise and resubmit if issues are minor

After Publication

If plagiarism is detected after publication:

  • The article may be retracted
  • A notice of retraction may be published
  • Authors may be blacklisted from future submissions
  • Institutions or affiliated organizations may be notified

6. Editorial Responsibilities

The editorial board ensures:

  • Fair and unbiased evaluation of similarity reports
  • Confidential handling of plagiarism cases
  • Adherence to ethical publishing standards

7. Ethical Compliance
